Redruth Resident Survey 2025
Artist Callout
Each year, Redruth Town Council organise a Festival to commemorate the Cornish Patron Saint, St Piran. A key element of the festival is the parade, which features children from local primary and secondary schools, as well as numerous community groups. This year, the festival theme is ‘Gwenton – Cornish Spring.’ We want the parade artwork to reflect the theme, the story, and the animal followers of St Piran.
We are looking for artists to facilitate a series of parade structure-making workshops for a range of local primary and secondary school-aged children. The artist must lead on planning, preparing and delivering the workshops to groups of up to 20 children per session, who will vary in age and ability across two ‘making days.’ The artist must be available between 9 am and 4 pm on a weekday to run the workshops. The artist must provide all materials. Please note that once appointed, it is the artist’s responsibility to secure attendance from and make contact with schools and community groups as directed by the Communications Manager.
