Carefree at Hideaway 77
Carefree and Hideaway 77 Youth Café have joined in an exciting collaboration, marked by hosting of our Care Leavers’ supper club. Every Thursday evening for ten weeks, the group socialize, exchange ideas, cook, and enjoy meals together in Hideaway’s newly refurbished kitchen. The young participants enthusiastically utilized the wide array of cooking equipment and cherished the homely atmosphere. They also could nurture both their culinary abilities and their self-confidence. Evening menus boasted a variety of dishes, including fajitas, tacos, burgers, curry, pasta, and stir-fry, accompanied by an enticing selection of desserts ranging from cupcakes and pancakes to brownies and berry crumble.
In addition to culinary exploration, the group delved into the application of mathematics in the kitchen. They honed their mathematical skills by adjusting recipes for varying numbers of people, calculating proportions, measuring ingredients, managing budgets, and even mastering a few mathematical magic tricks.
