Specsavers Redruth Local Hero Awards 2024 – nominations now open! It’s that time of the year when we come together to celebrate the unsung heroes in our community who make Redruth shine a little brighter! The Specsavers Redruth Local Hero Awards are back, and nominations are officially OPEN!

Nominate Your Local Champion:

Have you witnessed someone in our community going above and beyond to make a difference? Perhaps they’ve organized events, worked tirelessly to support others, or spearheaded initiatives that have positively impacted Redruth. Now is the time to give them the recognition they truly deserve!

Head to Discover Redruth to submit your nomination. Share their story and let us know how they’ve made an impact. Every nomination brings us one step closer to highlighting the incredible individuals who embody the spirit of our town.

Celebrating Our Community:

Redruth is more than just a place; it’s a community built on compassion, collaboration, and care. The Local Hero Award aims to spotlight those who embody these values. From supporting local businesses to volunteering their time, our heroes make Redruth a better place for us all. So, if you have made a difference to our community, or know someone who has, enter the Redruth Local Hero Awards.

This year’s entrants can be nominated in any of the following categories.

  • Good Neighbour Award sponsored by Penventon Park Hotel
  • Volunteer of the Year sponsored by Premiere Contractors Ltd
  • Best Community Project sponsored by Thurstan Hoskin Solicitors
  • Young Person of the Year sponsored by Redruth & Camborne Lions (up to 25 years old)
  • Environment and Climate Change Hero sponsored by Tesco Redruth Tolgus
  • Sportsperson of the Year sponsored by Specsavers Redruth
  • Best New Local Business sponsored by Redruth & District Chamber of Commerce (established on/after 1st October 2022)
  • Best Green Business sponsored by Sanders Design

T&Cs:

Terms and conditions

1. The Redruth Local Hero Awards are organised by Redruth Town Council, Civic Centre, Alma Place, Redruth TR15 2AT.

2. Entrants can nominate themselves or be nominated by someone else and by entering, they will be deemed to have read and accepted the terms & conditions.

3. All those nominated for an award must live, work or carry on activity within the parish of Redruth, Cornwall. The judges reserve the right to exclude any entries from outside of Redruth.

4. By entering, all award and category entrants have agreed to allow the details of their entry to be shared with the judges.

5. Officers and members of Redruth Town Council are not eligible for the awards and any entry for them will be excluded.

6. The judging panel will be made up of Council members, officers and representatives of sponsor organisations.

7. The deadline for submitting an entry is Midnight on Sunday 7th April 2024.

8. The winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on Friday 26th April 2024. The Council reserves the right to reschedule the ceremony if required due to any extenuating circumstances.
