We’re re-imagining the ancient tradition of welcoming the changing seasons. For hundreds of years Redruth celebrated with a May Fayre on the 2nd.
We begin dancing at dawn on top of Carn Brea, making our musical way down to the town where we will dress local buildings and businesses with greenery, inviting the whole community to join the Maypole dance.

Late Night Dancing Delight with DJ MODIR | Disco | Funk | Soul The Redruth Drapery Bank Holiday Boogie.
Kick off the summer with a night at one of the coolest venues in Kernow and one of Cornwall’s finest DJ’s MODIR bringing us a night of classic Soul, Funk and Disco to dance the night away with your friends till the wee hours.
Two floors and a garden if it’s not raining. There will be security as per usual with our events so you can relax and have a great hassle free evening.

Scary Little Girls: Mayven Festival – Feminist as Folk Cabaret

The Mayven Festival is back (10th – 17th May 2024), bringing fabulous feminist fun to venues, spaces and places across Cornwall from the 10-18th May 2024! We will be taking over venues across Cornwall, bringing a folk theme to this year’s spring offering. A jam-packed night with performances from queens of the scene at the Ladder, Redruth:
- Carolyn Francis with her range of instruments & loop pedal
- Frankie Armstrong (‘one of the most compelling and beautiful of the folk voices of Britain’ The Telegraph)
- Angeline Morrison (‘She masters the precision of storytelling as well as its poetry’ The Guardian)
- Rising star Flo Perlin (‘Utterly captivating and instantly endearing’ Radio 6)
- Local music legends forming new Nos Lowen band TANEK to get you dancing!
All hosted by Glastonbury’s Bunny Morethan (aka Rebecca Mordan) and suffused with poems, sketches, comedy and feats of the fabulous from Scary Little Girls’ Radical Rep and Cirque du Ciel in an unforgettable evening that’s Feminist as Folk!

Camborne and Redruth’s Pride Parade
The march aims to be civil, peaceful, safe and enjoyable for all. We are pleased to welcome a number of local organisations and their representatives who will be marching together with Cornwall Pride showing their love and support. The march can get very crowded and lively but it is good fun. There will be music and celebration as we march to show support for LGBTQ+ people in Camborne , Cornwall and around the world.
