The Ladder, is a new arts and culture hub in Redruth, housed in the former Passmore Edwards Library Building which is undergoing extensive renovation to fully resource the space to provide rehearsal, performance, co-working and residency space for artists.
Our Mission
We are building a creative space for Redruth and Cornwall. This will include space for creatives to work including studios and co-working, as well as for community events and activities including dance classes, children and young people activities, fitness and music. Every two years all our residents will come together as part of a festival.

Our Story
In 2021, Josh and Felix were taking part in a residency at Bill’s Attack at Krowji in Redruth. Having worked together for 12 years in London building venues and theatre productions, something felt right about Redruth and the town’s creative electricity. As we looked at the recently vacated library, we saw a lot of potential for what the space and town could become. Two years later, with funding from Historic England, The Department for Levelling Up and Cornwall Council’s support, we have saved the space for the people of Redruth for the next 127 years in the spirit of its founder Passmore Edwards.
