6th June is the 80th anniversary of D-Day when thousands of troops landed on the beaches of Normandy to begin the liberation of Europe. We will be marking the anniversary with a series of special events in the town centre on the day.
The current events include:
– 8:00am Town Crier’s Proclamation at the Miner Statue
– 9:00am – 5:00pm D-Day and World War II Exhibition in Redruth Library & Information Service
– 8:30pm 1940’s Tunes at the Miner Statue
– 9:10pm The International Tribute spoken by Mayor Stephen Barnes & Town Clark Charlotte Caldwell and James Williams, Vice Lord Lieutenant
-9:15pm The Lamp of Peace lit
