Welcome to the Strand: Gallery 7

Gallery 7In recent weeks you may have noticed a new gallery has opened on Market Strand in Redruth!

Jo, an artist, printer, painter, designer and more, owns Gallery 7 where she creates different and new artistic pieces. Her latest exploration involves customizing vintage clothing with lino prints, patches, and stamps. Her favourite piece, a huge illustration created with white ink on black, features intricate details. This piece will be in the shop soon, so be sure to stop by and look.

Having found her feet at Krowji, Jo is excited to be in Redruth and has already had lots of positive feedback from the community. She has met many lovely people who have already returned to her gallery as repeat customers.

Jo believes in creating unique work so you know the piece you’re buying isn’t one of thousands. Much of her work is only reprinted 10-12 times, so if you buy one, it can be special, just for you. In the future, Jo hopes to expand on this, possibly allowing people to request personalised prints truly making it one of a kind.

While she’s still working out what to do with the shop space, you can visit Gallery 7 on a Saturday. Here you can find many pieces of unique artwork for sale, as well as Jo’s side brand; Sweary Mary*.

*Profanities to be expected. Viewer Discretion Advised

However, as the summer approaches, Jo intends to have Gallery 7 open, Tuesday- Saturday.

Workshops & Meet the Artist

Jo is currently taking an MA course, which fuels her book-making designs, many of which you can find in her shop now. Her inspiration led her to offer a book-binding workshop back in July and hopes to do more in the future.

Her workshops are typically five, to six people at a push, making it a close-knit, friendly, laid-back workshop. Most of all, she wants them to be fun! Looking forward, she wants these workshops to be accessible to all, as well as keeping them at a low cost.

You can meet Jo and see the artwork from Gallery 7 at the WadebridgeTattoo Convention on Saturday 17th August. While there, she hopes to drive footfall, not only to the Gallery but to Redruth too.

We wish Jo the best of luck and look forward to seeing more of her work in the future.
