The Regal Cinema Redruth

What’s on at the Regal?

The Regal Cinema, Redruth has been a live venue since the 1930s, in that time it has undergone several projects to renovate and modernise the facility, the most recent of which was in 2013 where the venue was given a new lease of life. The 500-seat auditorium transforms from a cinema auditorium showing the biggest blockbusters to a live venue ready to excite audiences with big names and local talent live on the stage!

Disabled Facilities

The Regal is a traditional cinema and theatre across multiple levels.

Wheelchair Access –

The Regal Cinema in Redruth has Wheelchair access to Screens 4 and 5 via the main entrance. Screen 1 has purpose built wheelchair bays in the Cinema’s Stalls/Ground Floor seating area with adjoining seats for their accompanying carers. The Stalls/Ground Floor seating area are reached via the main entrance and then via a lift taking you down a few stairs to the Stalls’ corridor. Screens 2; 3 & 7 are not available to wheelchair users. Screen 7 is accessed via a spiral staircase. The Regal Bar and Restaurant is also accessible for wheelchair users.

You can check on our website to see if the film of your choice is showing in a wheelchair accessible auditorium by looking for a Wheelchair icon against the film (which indicates that some or perhaps all of the film’s performances listed are wheelchair accessible) and then mouse over the actual time to see if that specific performance is wheelchair accessible.

Currently, it’s not possible to book wheelchair/carer spaces online. Therefore, please reach out to the cinema’s box office during regular opening hours to inquire about seat reservations and/or other accessible facilities at 01209 216278.

Disabled Toilets

Facilities are available in the restaurant and stalls’ corridor.

Subtitled Performances –

We run captioned performances whenever possible on both weekend and weekday screenings. Check the website or call the cinema directly.

Relaxed/Autism Friendly Screenings

Subtly-adapted screenings for Relaxed/Autism-friendly showings cater to individuals with various conditions like autism, learning disabilities, and cognitive disorders by creating a welcoming environment. They have sound levels turned down, the lights left on at a low level and there are no trailers or adverts at the beginning of the film. Film-goers are able to make noise and to sit where they feel most comfortable. These screenings are usually the first Sunday in the month and often the first show of the day to avoid crowds. Look out for the logo

CEA Carer Card

Merlin Cinemas actively participate in the CEA Card program, a national concessionary card developed by the UKCA for UK cinemas. This program enables individuals with disabilities to receive one complimentary ticket for a companion when they attend the cinema. The CEA Card aims to establish a uniform voluntary standard for offering complimentary tickets to people with disabilities. For further information, visit the CEA Card website. The CEA Card is valid for films available for general release and event cinema, with potential restrictions on private screenings.
