๐๐๐๐ซ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ก ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐๐๐ง๐ญ๐ซ๐, a cornerstone of the townโs social fabric for over 50 years, is set to undergo a major transformation. Originally built in 1912 and managed by the Redruth Community Association, the centre has long served as a hub for essential local services and groupsโincluding the Memory Cafรฉ, Man Down, NHS and Public Health programmes, and a range of events supporting Redruthโs most vulnerable residents.
With funding secured through the Community Levelling Up Partnershipโsuccessfully bid for by Redruth Town Councilโthe Redruth Community Association is beginning the first phase of a regeneration project to refurbish and futureproof the centre it operates.
This initial phase will focus on vital upgrades to improve accessibility, boost energy efficiency, and enhance the overall functionality of the space. The goal is to make the centre more inclusive, sustainable, and better equipped to meet the evolving needs of the local community.
The improvements will not only enhance the visitor experience but also reduce the buildingโs environmental impactโpreserving this important community asset for generations to come.
This refurbishment marks the beginning of a wider vision: to transform Redruth Community Centre into a modern, flexible environment that promotes wellbeing, reduces social isolation, and brings people together.
