Redruth Town Council’s Engagement Team have organised some fantastic festive events this year starting with Redruth in Lights on the Saturday 26th November, then followed by three festive Saturdays in December. All the details can be found below.

Redruth in Lights – 26th November

  • 11:00am – Wassail Bowl Handover in Redruth Library
  • 11:00am until 5:00pm – Festive Town Market
  • 1:00pm – Santa Bus on Alma Place
  • 3:00pm – Redruth Town Band to play at Tatey Court
  • 4.15pm – Redruth Carol Choir singing in St Rumon’s Gardens
  • Joined by participants for the Lantern Display to learn the Redruth Wassail
  • 4.45pm – Mummers Play outside the Regal Cinema
  • 5.15pm – Carol singing at the Miner Statue with Father Christmas
  • 5.30pm – Christmas Light Switch on with Chris Hailey of the Redruth Charity Trust and the girls of Redruth Rugby Club
  • 5:35pm – Wassail bowl ceremony proceeds through the town’s back streets and into hostelries following the traditional Wassail singing and dancing around the streets of Redruth. All are welcome to take part, dress code is Victorian mock formal or just join in. Any collections into the bowl on route are donated to local charities.
  • 7.00pm – The Drapery Wassail after party

Festive Saturday – 3rd December

  • 10:00am – 2:00pm – Festive market in Market Hall and Market Strand.
  • 10:30 – 12:30 & 1:30 – 3:30pm – Winter Woodland Grotto opens in Market Way, meet Santa and take part in a workshop. Free to attend.
  • Small Business Saturday and free parking in town
  • 9:30am – 12:30pm – Free tree giveaway – details
  • 12:00pm – Redruth Town Band performance
  • 11:00 – 11:30am – Christmas stories at Redruth Library

Festive Saturday – 10th December

  • 10:00am – Bagas Crowd musical performance at Tatey Court
  • 10:00 – 12:00 & 1:00 – 3:00pm – Woodland Grotto and workshops
  • 1:00pm – 4:00pm – Wassail at Kresen Kernow
  • 11:00 – 11:30am – Christmas stories at Redruth Library

Festive Saturday – 17th December

  • 10:00 – 12:00 & 1:00 – 3:00pm – Woodland Grotto and workshops
  • 11:00 – 11:30am – Christmas stories at Redruth Library
  • 11:00am – 3 x 45 minute – Hotch Potch circus performances
