The Redruth International Mining and Pasty Festival returns, this year bigger and better than ever! The festival, running from Friday 20th to Saturday 21st September will include a Mining Day on the Friday, and a Pasty Day on the Saturday. A number of competitions will also take place on the Saturday with some fantastic pasty-themed prizes to be won which have been supplied by our friends at Cornish Pasty Association and Rowe’s. Best Traditional Cornish Pasty Under 18s

Think you can make the best traditional Cornish Pasty? Enter it into our Pasty Competition.

How to enter:

  1. Read the rules below
  2. Make your traditional Cornish Pasty
  3. Bring your creation to the competition tent on Green Lane between 1.30pm and 2pm on Saturday 21st September 2024 for judging.
  4. Fill out an entry form when you drop off your creation.

Rules:

  1. Your pasty must only use traditional ingredients – Genuine Cornish Pasty : Cornish Pasty Association
  2. Your pasty must be crimped on the side

Prize:

  • A box of 20 pasties from Proper Cornish.

Best Traditional Cornish Pasty 18+

Most Creative Non-Traditional Pasty

Think you can improve upon perfection? If you’ve got an alternative pasty flavour worthy of a prize this pasty competition category is for you.

How to enter:

  1. Read the rules below
  2. Make your traditional Cornish Pasty
  3. Bring your creation to the competition tent on Green Lane between 1.30pm and 2pm on Saturday 21st September 2024 for judging.
  4. Fill out an entry form when you drop off your creation.

Rules:

  1. Your Pasty can be made of any ingredients you like, just make sure it’s edible.
  2. Your Pasty must still be crimped on the side.

Prize:

  • A Rowe’s Hamper

Best Crafted Pasty

Not a baker but still want to be involved? This category is for all you creative crafters! You can knit or sew your pasty, or make from recycled materials or maybe even from clay – the choice is yours!

How to enter:

  1. Read the rules below
  2. Make your traditional Cornish Pasty from any materials you like
  3. Bring your creation to the competition tent on Green Lane between 1.30pm and 2pm on Saturday 21st September 2024 for judging.
  4. Fill out an entry form when you drop off your creation

Rules:

  1. Your Pasty can be made of any non-edible materials you like
  2. Your Pasty must still be crimped on the side

Prize:

  • A voucher for 12 Cornish Premier frozen pasties.

Pasty Trail

Can you find the hidden word in the 5 pasty shops in Redruth?

How to enter:

  1. Pick up a trail card from our information point on Fore Street on Saturday 21st September.
  2. Complete the trail and fill out the trail card.
  3. Return your trail card to our information point by 2pm on Saturday 21st September to enter the prize draw.

Prizes:

  • 1st Prize: A voucher for a year’s supply of Rowe’s Pasties.
  • 2nd Prize: A voucher for a Rowe’s home delivery box.
